Product Description

We are excited to present our new range of outdoor infrared saunas. Years of rigorous testing and development have gone into ensuring the cabins will endure a harsh environment and perform effectively and efficiently all year round. The choice of materials and design of the sauna must also be attractive in a wide range of outdoor settings, be simple to install and maintain whilst offering real value for money. We believe we have achieved all our aims and the outdoor infrared saunas are now available to order for deliveries starting in March 2021.

Model EIR2020 Outdoor Sauna

Dimensions 1711 x 1750 x 2406mm (W x D x H) Model EIR2020 is our most compact outdoor infrared sauna and is suitable for three bathers, it is supplied as standard with a 6 x 300w Oceanic Infrared heater panels, with the optional "Saunarium" combined sauna and steam upgrade.  Please find full details of the heaters and saunarium upgrade click on the "which heater to choose" tab below or call our sales team who will be happy to advise.
The internal aspects of the sauna including all benches, back rests, floor mats and heater guards are constructed from Finnish Spruce as standard, those seeking additional comfort may prefer to upgrade to Abachi timber which remains cooler to the touch and eliminates the requirement for towels. Abachi is considered more attractive wood with its knot free appearance and close interlocking grain, it is almost featureless giving a clean overall appearance.
Each Outdoor Infrared Sauna is supplied complete with Oceanic infrared heaters with digital controls having a countdown timer for settings up to 60 minutes, a thermostatic temperature control to set upto 60°C and a high temperature safety cut off at 80°C to prevent overheating. Chrome fire-rated down lights are included as standard. In addition we offer a range of optional accessories and lighting choices.

Note that for the purpose of photography we have used clear glass in the images. Actual saunas will include bronze reflective glass.

Product Features

ThermoWood D

Thickness, Grain, Texture and Profile. The external cladding is extra thick 21mm ThermoWood, which has a straight grain and fine texture.  Our profile has been specifically designed to have a long tongue for secret nailing which gives a modern appearance with clean straight lines.

What is ThermoWood? ThermoWood or more specifically ThermoPine D has not been chemically treated in any way, instead the timber is slowly heated to 212oC so no chemical leaching will occur.  The process modifies the characteristics of the timber and provides it with a host of benefits making it highly durable and an ideal choice for exterior cladding.  Thermowood cladding should deliver a service life of 30 years.

Stability

ThermoWood has dramatically reduced swelling in humid conditions. In addition the comparison with species such as Western Red Cedar (WRC) and Larch which are typical cladding materials prove to be very positive.

Thermowood dimensional stability graph

Colour. ThermoWood has an attractive golden brown appearance. ThermoWood cladding if left without any surface coating will start to grey and weather in quite a short period of time, as can be expected with all natural wood products which are exposed to the weather effects.

Resistance to fungal and insect attacks. ThermoPine has a significantly improved durability against fungal attacks with a rating of class 3. It is also proven to be resistant from attack of the three most common wood boring insects found in Europe.

Triple Insulated Panels

The extra thick walls are triple insulated with rockwool and foil layer to maximise thermal efficiency and reduce running costs throughout the year.

Bronze Reflective Double-Glazed Glass
The sauna door and optional glass panels feature double glazed, toughened, bronze reflective glass. The reflective coating (exterior face only) provides privacy to the bathers inside the sauna, whilst allowing natural light to enter. The mirror effect of the coating helps the glass to merge with its surroundings, in combination with the natural weathering of the cladding the sauna will sit harmoniously within a garden or hillside. The double glazing vastly improves thermal insulation, reducing heat loss and heat up time.

Tanalised Base
The sauna wall panels sit upon a sturdy 90mm x 38mm tanalised timber base, this lifts the panels off the floor away from any lying water.

Roof
The gable roof has been designed to protect the sauna from weather all year round and is finished with 12mm thick roofing boards, a breathable membrane and attractive dark grey felt roof shingles. The roof structure sits above triple insulated internal ceiling panels to maximise thermal insulation.

New Generation Infrared Heaters
All of our heaters are equipped with new generation Infrared heat lamps with quartz elements and carbon fibre filaments. All Oceanic Infrared Saunas operate from a control box with a remote keypad (ordinarily situated on the front face of the sauna cabin).  The control box and all associated wiring can be situated inside the roof void, or inside an IP66 rated encolsure (purchase as an optional extra).

SPRUCE CLADDING

Timber selection is crucial to the correct performance of the sauna cabin. Spruce, which has both low heat absorption and low resin content is ideal.  Although it grows in many regions, in the northern areas of Scandinavia the countless generations of experience of nurturing trees, pruning and thinning combine with the cooler weather conditions which slows growth ensuring straight strong timbers.
Specifying top grades means we take only material which is free from dead knots, splits and shakes, the timber is kiln dried in the country of origin, it is then checked again for quality before being assembled into a sauna cabin.

 FULLY INSULATED PANELS

All wall and ceiling panels are fully insulated with DIN4102 rated Earthwool fibre insulation, ensuring the heat is contained within the cabin, speeding up heat up times and reducing energy waste.

EMF

It is possible to find a number of manufacturers of Infrared saunas and sauna heater elements that are marketing their products as ‘Low EMF’.
EMF is an acronym for Electric and Magnetic Fields. There are three types of field associated with EMF: Electronic, Magnetic and Radio waves. A common measurements for magnetic fields is milligaus (mG).
There is currently no definitive medical proof for the effect of EMFs on the human body. Most of the sources for information relating to human health and EMF are attempting to sell products to either measure or reduce EMF and do not provide proven side effects of exposure.
There are no statutory exposure limits in the UK.
For the sake of transparency we have tested our Infrared emitters to offer a comparison to anyone considering purchasing an infrared sauna. The reading at the backrest is 1.6 milligaus To provide some context we also show the level of other household devices. Your mobile phone typically produces around 5 milligaus and if you are reading this on a computer screen you could easily be being exposed to over 30 milligaus.
If you are seriously concerned about the effects of EMF we recommend you contact your GP for reliable medical advice.

Do not install directly onto; loose slabs, rubble, lawn, gravel or dirt.

For full details on the sauna cabin installation the manual can be downloaded from the "Downloads" tab below.
