Saunarium Coat waterproofing wood treatment Saunarium Coat is a next-generation wood treatment, specially formulated for the extreme heat and humidity of saunas. With zero VOC technology, it penetrates deep into the timber to create an invisible, breathable barrier that locks out moisture without changing the natural look or feel of the wood.
Saunarium Coat won’t blister, peel, or release harmful fumes — just lasting protection for benches, walls, and ceilings in the world’s toughest environment.
Key Benefits
Zero VOCs, zero odour – Safe for indoor air quality and wellness spaces.
Heat & steam resistant – Built to perform at sauna temperatures without degrading.
Invisible protection – Preserves the wood’s natural beauty and texture.
Long-lasting performance – Helps prevent swelling, cracking, and warping.
Water-based & sustainable – Better for you, better for the environment.
Important: These products can be used in the same sauna on different areas, but they should not be layered over one another on the same surface. For example, you can use SATU SAUNAVAHA on the walls and ceiling, and SATU LAUDESUOJA on the benches and high-contact areas. What you should not do is apply one product over another on the same timber area.
Instructions for use: Wear safety goggles and suitable gloves. Application: In a well ventilated area using a paint brush, apply an even coat of saunarium coat to all internal timber surfaces of the cabin including the walls, roof, benches, overlap moulds and backrests. The saunarium coat will absorb into the timber within 10-15 minutes. Leave 30 minutes drying time between coats, there is little advantage to applying more than 2 coats. 1 litre of saunarium coat will provide 15m2 coverage.
